The story of Mo………Last fall, my grand daughter’s horse, Jewel, was diagnosed with EPM.  He was a beautiful black horse with the sweetest disposition.   Heartbroken, I started on a search to find a horse similar to Jewel…….hoping she could bond with him to soften what we had to face after Christmas, which was, putting Jewel down.  I found Mojo……..a really great family, the Doty family, that I still stay in touch with,…who live in Richmond, Ky., about an hour from us,……Mike’s grand father had purchased Mo when he was only two yrs. old.  Mo is now eleven yrs. old (as of 4/30/13).  So basically, he has had only two owners besides his family when he was a colt.   Mike’s grand father died spring, 2012, and so they decided to sell Mo.  And that is how we ended up with him…..he was loved so very much,…still is,……and it is very important that I find him a hopefully lifetime, loving home.   I am hopeful that whoever ends up with buying Mo, that they will continue to keep in touch with both us and the Doty family……….

Reason we have decided to sell Mo:  Mo had not been ridden since Mike’s grandfather died spring, 2012.  We brought him home and started working with him.  He has an amazing natural talent with a high front end and low back end…….beautiful head set.  We stalled him from Nov. through March, due to not wanting him to be kicked up or hurt.   All those months working with him, he was “ready to go”……he has a big heart, and loves what he does!   I thought, when spring came and we turned him out,…..that would change.  But sadly, it has not.

Thinking back,…I should have known better.  A horse that has EIGHT WORLD CHAMPIONS on his registration papers?…..it is bred into him!  The big heart,….the proud, high stepping way of going,…….And it doesn’t help that he is out of some of the most extraordinary bloodlines —-Gen’s Carbon Copy (WGC) – Motown Magic (WGC) – Rodger’s Perfection (WGC) – Go Boy’s Shadow (WGC) – Midnight Sun (WGC) – Merry Go Boy (WGC) – Go Boy’s Sun Dustg (WGC) – and Mack K’s Handshaker.  I should have known better…..   (:       Tommy and I both have a lifetime of experience in showing horses.  We haven’t shown for about nine years due to health issues, but before that?  Everytime there was a Walking/Racking horse show, our truck rolled.  We showed for points.   Thinking back, Mojo is exactly the kind of horse we would have given our eye teeth to have!!  He is short-bodied (my favorite)….has beautiful conformation…..(look at his breeding…)…..natural talent……and is black as black can be!  Even in the summer and sun —he remains black!

Mo has never been shown……Mr. Doty spent his life trail riding with family.   Mo has years of experience on the trails, camping trips,…..and being a family horse.  We wanted him for a family horse,…for my eleven yr. old grand daughter…..but he is too much horse for her, and as hard as we have tried,……he is not going to change into a horse like Daisy,….which is now, my grand daughter’s keeper.  (:   She has once again bonded——- with Daisy and has a lot of fun with her…….When we brought Mo home, he won our hearts from day one.  He is snuggly,…loving, and has such a sense of humor……he makes us laugh all the time…..he smiles when in a stall looking over the wall….he neighs,..he demands attention!   And yes,…..he did ease the grief that we all went through when we had to put Jewel down in February of this year.   He got my grand daughter through a very difficult time….as he did for all of us, because of his personality and his ability to love and make us laugh and smile.

I cannot tell you how sad we are that his temperament has not worked out as we thought it would.   Mo needs a rider that has experience and confidence…..someone who appreciates his get up and go….his heart……..his spirit.   He needs someone who can give him one on one attention….who will love him and give him the best of care.  He is as close to human….with his personality and emotions …as we have ever had!!!!!   If you are that person, he will give you “so much joy”…..so much love, and so much laughter!

He has a wonderful smooth gait…..and he can move on out when called on……..When you stop him,…. he is impatient….has the prancy front feet…….he does not rear up! —–After months of working with Mo, our rider, Amber, has done wonders with him.  I have the sweetest videos of her ground work with him.  And she did have him at one point to where he would stop, stand and wait patiently.   But if you go two weeks without riding him?   he goes back to the prancy,….ready to go, impatient Mo.   He just has a beautiful heart…..but he is not what we need here with the children…….and he is not for my grand daughter as she is a timid rider……she has not been able to ride him at all……due to my being so nervous about it.

If you are experienced – confident – and you want a horse with a lifetime of trail experience…….and you would like to have fun at the local shows – and have something you could win with – with all natural talent?…….Mojo would be wonderful for anyone who would want to do both!!!    Mo is easy to shoe,…..clip,….loves his baths!!! —he loves his baths…he is so funny with the hose! —–he walks right on the horse trailer —-he gets along with other horses – and he is in your face when he sees you coming toward him in the pasture.  Or – if you do not want to wade the mud in the winter….he runs to the fence when he sees you.   Amber had him standing to mount….and standing and waiting…..after mounting at the mounting block.  But as I said,…..if you go without riding him two weeks,…he won’t do this.  He won’t stand still…………Mo has never done anything dangerous,…like buck, rear, kick, bite, or had any negative behavior.   He just has a big heart that he was born with…….and the ability to love like you have never seen before!!!

I cannot tell you how sad it makes me to put this ad on my website………..but he belongs with someone who has a heart as big as his….and enjoys his spirit and his willingness to never quit…………The only photos we have are the ones above…..we will be taking photos and videos this coming week.   I do have videos of Amber with the sweetest  ground work on my I-phone that I can text to you if you will send me your cell number.  I also have videos of her gaiting him that I can text, until we can get new ones.   Thank you for watching our videos and your appreciation that so many of you have shown for what we do here…..
