DARLA……SWEET DARLA (13.3 – 8 YR. OLD) – is a mare for the entire family!  She is a beautiful walnut color with white markings—- She is so very loving!  She loves children – and has a slow motion walk for them!  Darla came from Eastern Ky., hills, creeks, wildlife, woods, dangerous trails, barking dogs, road traffic – she has been there – done that!   She does not hesitate to cross water, logs, ditches, or ride along with traffic.  When we brought her home, her first day here – she did not perk her ears at anything!  Nothing looked new to her.  She is a country horse – been turned out all of her life.  It took her a few days to get used to our stables with all the “stuff” …..golf cart, (she now leads gaiting beside the golf cart) – concrete porches, – etc., but now she is right at home with walking anywhere we lead her.  She loves her baths and does not hesitate to walk into the wash area now.   Darla has a lot of patience – she is willing to do anything you ask,……..and loves to please.  Darla loves to be praised.  She has a lot of head sense.

Darla stands to mount and waits…..she rides double, and she is safe to slide off the hips, stand in the saddle, crawl under her, and do other tricks on her!   Darla pays no attention to whatever you want to do…whether spur of the moment or taking your time.  We have videos of Darla mounting from a mounting block, riding double, getting a bath, and being shod.  Please take the time to view them and you will see what a wonderful disposition she has!!

We have a video of children visiting who cannot ride.  One is them walking off and leaving her standing alone………they went over to do something else and left Darla.   She just stood there —–and waited for them to come back to her.  She is amazing with so much patience!!  Especially with children.   For those of you who have had hip or knee replacements, – she is a mare that you can rest your leg on her hips if you have trouble mounting.  She has a very smooth easy ride!!!! —– Darla would make a young rider an awesome 4-H horse, – or shows of any kind.  She is VERY humble in the pasture – has never – not one time – tried to be boss with the groups of horses we have turned her out with.   Darla is a mare that any family would be Blessed to have.  She has been so much joy while here.  We have had her here since the middle of July because the children have had so much fun with her.  Don’t miss out on this sweet, sweet mare!
